Do you want to join a team that is dedicated to closing the achievement gap?

Are you looking for the next great challenge in your life?

Do you believe ALL students can succeed?

Welcome to William R. Harper High School, home of the Cardinals!

Harper is located in the West Englewood neighborhood of Chicago and serves 1,300 students in grades 9-12. As a 2008-2009 Chicago Turnaround School, Harper is focused on creating a respectful, student-centered environment that will enable us to intensely focus on raising student achievement and ensure that our students make adequate yearly progress (AYP).

Harper will be staffed with passionate, energetic and outstanding teachers who are committed to all students  Our staff will begin a rigorous summer program on August 11th in order to prepare for the challenges of the coming school year, and begin to develop the sense of teamwork and dedication that we aim to instill in our students.

Harper’s students will be held to the highest standards, so that they are on time, on task and respectful. They will take ownership of their education, their lives and their futures. Over the next year, the goal is to make impressive gains in student achievement.

Our community needs individuals who will provide each student with the skills and values needed to become successful in a global economy.  We are looking for educators who are willing to work hard to achieve these goals.  This will not be easy.  There will be many challenges along the way, but together we will succeed!  We hope you will consider joining the Cardinal team.
