We are looking for outstanding educators who are committed to increasing student achievement in Chicago Public Schools (CPS).

Eligibility

Candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • You must possess a Bachelor's degree (conferred by June 2008).
  • Your undergraduate GPA must be 2.5 or higher.
  • You must be fully eligible to work in the United States.
  • You must meet the Illinois credentialing requirements for your desired subject area.*

*If you are an out-of-state credentialed teacher, please carefully review your state reciprocity requirements as set forth by the Illinois State Board of Education (www.isbe.net) to ensure that you meet all eligibility requirements. All Chicago teachers must also meet the NCLB definition of highly qualified.

Application Process

Current CPS Teachers

If you are a current CPS teacher wishing to transfer to a Turnaround School, please email your resume to Turnarounds@cps.k12.il.us. Please also indicate your grade level, subject and/or school preferences. If you are uncertain or flexible, Teach Chicago Turnarounds staff will assist you in finding the right fit.

New Applicants

If you are a new applicant to CPS, you must complete the CPS online application at:
